It is good to be together! After several years, DRUUMM is planning an in-person retreat, and ARE is thrilled to provide parallel programming during this special weekend.
We as white allies are called to challenge the myriad ways that racism shows up in our lives and institutions, as we work to dismantle racism and white supremacy culture. This starts with ourselves as we work to support communities of care that center UU Black, Indigenous, and People of Color / People of Global Majority (BIPOC/POGM) within our own contexts.
Thus, we invite you to this opportunity to nurture new relationships and deepen existing relationships among white allies as we engage around this call.
The agenda for the weekend:
Friday, March 31, 2023: Dinner, in-gathering, & Social (Open to BIPOC/POGM, Allies and Family) at Wildflower Church, Austin, Texas.
Saturday, April 1, 2023: ARE gathering at First UU Church, Austin, Texas parallel to the DRUUMM gathering, which is for BIPOC/POGM only (please share the registration link here: https://bit.ly/druumm-tx-retreat with your BIPOC/POGM beloveds).
Sunday, April 2, 2023: Sunday Service, lunch, and closing (Open to BIPOC/POGM, Allies and Family) at Wildflower Church, Austin, Texas.
We plan to include childcare as well as youth programming as well as intergenerational activities. We also will endeavor to provide some virtual programming.
